Winter is officially here and with that comes a change in tactics and options. This time of year requires anglers to be more considerate of where and how they’re fishing, but it shouldn’t discourage you from getting out on the water. With the right approach and lures, you can still get some great fish in the net.

Water levels are finally on the rise again! This summer was one of the driest we’ve had in several years. In fact, the water levels on our warm water fisheries were at some record lows for a good part of this year.

Taking your time to prep for your trip can help increase productivity out on the water. I can't count the number of times I have seen friends and clients not take a moment to make sure they have everything they will need for a day of fishing. At the end of the day, I’m here to make sure you have an awesome day of fishing– taking a moment at the ramp or the night before to run down your checklist and make sure you have everything is always acceptable.

This will be the first year in seven years that I will not be heading down to Brazil in winter. With lots of home things to take care of this winter I had to pass up fishing in one of my favorite places in the world. Now, with winter in full effect and snow on the ground it has me dreaming of warm days in the jungle.
